Balcombe Protest - Pictures

The reality of that really only containing food products is quite unlikely...

Patty in the gray shirt in the front line.

Drilling lorry... Reflection... Copper...

Beautiful and so not. The white thing is the drill

Enjoying an incredible, healthy, colorful meal, and watching the protest of slowing down the lorries happen to understand how it works and how I can get involved without potentially getting arrested.

Same plate on the front and the back - not something that is true to say about all the lorries, which is illegal and which I reported to the police (via phone knowing the cops present would most likely not act on my comment.)

We are filming them and they are filming us. Strange (heart breaking?) world.

Smile much??

Dan in the blue with the guitar as a personal car leaves the fracking site - plate documentation.

Kangaroo moon dancing. Jesse is on the bottom left.
Dancing while being very aware of the fact that I could get arrested at any point - worth it, and good in the end. (I was handed a busc/know your rights card with the solicitors number on it, it stayed in my bra for a few days).

The 110 foot long scroll: "List of the Harmed."
I had a good cry in the meditation tent after rolling it up, connecting with the supporters of the scroll, reading name after name, knowing some of the people are from towns near where I grew up... It as a good experience and was certainly emotional for me as well as others.

As I was sitting on the ground (as I so often have in the past few months) when Patty nudged me and silently told me to look at the cops. We were watching Drill Baby Drill right by the fence where the night shift cops stood. They were tentative to show interest at first but by the end every one of their eyes was on the screen. Education all the time!

Candles aligned in a spiral inside the geodome made of sticks and tarps.

Serving lunch with Jo

Fran, Tinkerbell, Patty, and the lady bird apron wearing dish washer whose name I don't know (very friendly, kind, funny, and solid.)

A common site over the past week.

Why they were going into the fracking site rather than fixing the destroyed road right in front of the entrance I do not know--

Doing nothing illegal but being involved. :)

Photo Regrets

Regretting not organizing the pictures a bit earlier on my blog wishing I did not feel the need to do a mass photo load but, alas that is the case.
Something Jana said lovingly to me the other day is that people rarely regret doing things but often regret not doing things. Interesting how that is the case in this instance and in many others in this world.

Points That Come to Mind

Things that come out...

--This is the third time I am doing my last check in... ;)
--How am I getting my belongings that are locked up in a storage unit in NC?
--Excited about going to the protest and really hoping to not feel useless by not participating in the physical blockage if the time comes...
--What to take and what to leave?
--What feels so old yet is actually so new-
--First full day not at Embercombe in a while.
--Feeling very in touch to a part of my life
--Resisting the dark chocolate with hazelnuts sitting next to me on my bedside table.
--started the day with a jam jar full of amazing berry cobbler Jim made!
--Things work out
--Remembering last week like it was years ago.
--Loving the scars, scraps, and dirt that still coats my body and keeps special times so close to my heart!
--Noticing habits I picked up from people I am no longer living with...
--Typing and feeling a bit too comfortable around a laptop too quickly for a person who has lived and thrived in the wildness of Devon for the past 2 months :/
--Excited for my future - as near as sleeping on the next 10 minutes or so and as far as winter break from school as well as so so much in between.
-- I was told I would make a good nun today by an Irishman in a pub today. (There is a first for everything).
--I was reminded how small the world is when we were talking about irish and scotish names in the pub earlier with my Grandad and his mates and it turned out the person next to me has a daughter who is marrying someone with the same last name as me
--Tired after today but for reasons more in the head then has been the case for the past 2 months
--Seeing my pile of colors and textures that make up my things makes me happy and proud

Last full day at Embercombe

Last day at Embercombe. Incredible...
I am so happy here, learning constantly, being challenged, and healthy yet it feels like time to go.
So far (and it is only 2 PM) my day has included:
A super slow wake up in the mezzanine
Saying good bye to Ben (Jen's friend) and Dave (my music partner and friend)
Community Build Check in
Mulberry and cherry picking with Jana, Renee, Cayden, Adam, Chloe, Gracie, Jessie, Tim, Fi, and Asha. It was so beautiful being part of the smiles as it rained down fruit from the trees. It felt beyond right to be spending time gathering food to eat with really good people.
Lunch with Sean, Renee, Jim, and a block from Totnes who was here for the Build - Rob.
Hanging out on the couch under the lean-to visiting. It was a shame everyone around me was smoking (and I was witnessing loved ones causing such harm to their bodies) but the company was good. Eamon, Jim, Milly (from the site), Milly (from the kitchen), and someone I didn't know.

Not sure what the rest of today will look like. Lake visit? Festival? Fire? Who knows?!

Loving life. Happy and healthy.
