-Apparently yesterday I found some new muscles while shearing. I was and continue to be quite sore today. (I am still very very happy and content with my experience though.)
-I forget what it is called but I used a tool for a lot of today that entails half bending over, waking the soil, and dragging. Malic, malice, manic... something along those lines. There was a bit of confusion with what needed to get done, what had been completed, and how to do it - but we were productive and the potato plants are happier now (not to mention it is now raining!)
-Every break was well needed and appreciated. I did not feel like I was working all that hard but I did feel like not working was good.
-My belly was a bit off of a lot of today and I really wanted to curl up in a ball in the sun and just be. I think it was warming me of the calm before the storm~
-The apprentices visiting (they leave around lunch time tomorrow) are a fun group.
-Food stress was a thing today. I had about 3 too many biscottes (even though they were organic and whole wheat), and 2 plates of lunch and dinner. Food was a comfort that I knew where to find - so I utilized it!
-I made dinner with Patti tonight. Usually prep happens from 4 - 6/6:30. We started 5:20 and were ready and cleaned up (mostly) by 6:30. Bam. There was confusion and different approaches but we got it done and dinner was delicious. Rice (cooked by putting in the rice and 2x the water, letting it boil, turning down, and letting the water boil out - no need to stir. If a metal spoon comes out clean when dipped in and pulled out than it is done), dahl (yummy lentils, spiced by Patti), and carrots with onions and lemon juice.
-Before coming here (into Centre Fire where there is a fire going, laughter coming from upstairs, and Ronan playing the guitar) I was outside around the fire singing, drumming, dancing a bit, learning, and teaching. Cat Stevens, clapping patterns, motivation, bursts of happiness, rhythm, rounds, laughter, struggle, comfort, and joy. Then, if it could get any better, it started raining lightly (well needed for the garden).
-I am going to fall asleep to the sound of rain in my tent tonight. I am looking forward to it - as well as the walk down to the People's Circle (where my tent is). Smelling the smells, feeling under my bare feet, and the wind against my cheeks, not to mention the water on my hood.
I wanted to take a picture of it but it didn't happen though I am sure I will have another opportunity to do so: it felt really good today wearing both my purple plade shirt and my red flannel - with my brown hoody separating them. At the beginning of the day, walking up the hill I thought to myself - there are not many places I could do this and not either receive weird looks or judged as trying to fit a label - when really what I was wearing just happen to be the perfect amount of clothing needed and what I had accessible. People here understood. It felt really good.
